Trametes versicolor

I commonly came across the brown color types, but this is the first time I saw the green type and grew right up the trunk.

  1. The green color is striking! I think it could it be Trametes sp., though -- I've seen those turn green many times and the white pores would match that genus better. Daedaleopsis confragosa has maze-like pores, which although they start out white, turn dingy brown pretty quick. Posted 3 years ago

      1. That seems like a good potential match, I think. Trametes villosa also seems similar, but looks less common. Posted 3 years ago
  2. Great find Alfred Posted 3 years ago

"Trametes versicolor" is a common polypore mushroom found throughout the world. Meaning 'of several colours', "versicolor" reliably describes this mushroom found in different colors. By example, due to its resembling multiple colors in the tail of wild turkey, "T. versicolor" is commonly called turkey tail.
