Grove Snail (Cepaea nemoralis) Also called the Brown-lipped snail or Black Mouthed banded snail, the Grove snail is a species of air-breathing land snail (or terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc) and one of the most common species of land snail in Europe.<br />

It inhabits damp spots in a wide range of habitats, from gardens to grasslands, woods to hedges.<br />
<br />
They are hermaphrodites, so have organs of both sexes, but need to mate in order for each snail to fertilise their own eggs. They then bury their eggs in soil.<br />
