  1. Thanks for sharing this Ernst. I am fascinated by the mistletoes endemic to Australia as fossil records suggests that they originated in Australia over 30 million years ago from the part Australia that was attached to Gondwana. I have been searching for Louisa's Mistletoe that is endemic to the Blue Mountains however yet to find it!

"Lysiana exocarpi", commonly known as harlequin mistletoe, is a species of hemiparasitic shrub, endemic to Australia. It is in the Gondwanan family Loranthaceae and is probably the most derived genus of that family with 12 pairs of chromosomes.
