This was one of my first insect macro photos, I remember the excitement of discovery when I found this Flatheaded woodborer and thinking that this must be very commonly found on this area, but never seen another one since! I guess I was lucky ^_^

The Mediterranean flatheaded rootborer is a large Metallic Woodborer in the Capnodis genus. It is generally considered a patch due to their larvae nesting in an consuming the cortex of mostly young trees.
