    1. I have no idea. The tails are actually the hindwings but they are not used to fly.

This ones are very beautiful creatures* I'm chasing Nemoptera bipennis since a few years ago, and I know where they reproduce and flying season, but I never had the opportunity to be in the right place, and at the right time.       1. I've seen some records recently and they are usually photographed like you say, resting in the grass, or feeding over umbelifera. They are beautifully quite unique. cheers* Posted 9 years ago

Spoonwing lacewings are large to medium-size insects measuring approximately .63 inches (16 millimeters) in length, with a wingspan up to 2.16 inches (55 millimeters). The body is long and thick, with relatively broad, rounded forewings.
