    1. Thanks. Although I did learn that despite my enthusiasm for using the smartphone for some macro shots, miniature orchids don't turn out well. It's better than not having any shot, but overall the lesson is that these subjects are too small. The sweetspot seems to be large flowers, butterflies, beetles. Posted 8 months ago
      1. Why didn't you use your camera? But, I agree -- smartphone shot is better than nothing. And, it really isn't bad at all. It's just not as perfect as your camera pics. Posted 8 months ago
        1. I did not have my gear with me. In this case the "hike" was a bit of an urban experience, walking from the parking lot on a paved path to the waterfall. So we did not anticipate it to be photographically important, and for anything we would see, the smartphone suffices. Posted 8 months ago
