Blood red with a bullseye for bees

In this macro we see the individual flowers on the composite flowerhead beginning to open from the outside toward the centre. Gazania are perfect in my garden as hardy, low growing, drought resistant ground cover.

These perennials are native to South Africa. Gazania is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae.

This is Gazania rigens 'Pink Kiss'. The colours of this cultivar are incredible, passionate and dynamic.
