Mite - Tetranychus urticae I am incredibly annoyed. I have been dealing with thrips on my indoor plants (49 plants with thrips so far) for weeks. Just today, I found this little beast infesting my English ivy (Hedera helix). I had the plant in quarantine, so hopefully the mites haven&#039;t spread to any other plants.<br />

  1. Sorry to hear that, but have to emphasize the good here: really spectacular that you managed to photograph and ID it. Well done! Posted 3 years ago
    1. Thanks! I also have photos of the larval and adult thrips, plus video. They are more difficult to ID, though, and so far I can't get past family level. I will post them either way, though. Posted 3 years ago

''Tetranychus urticae'' is a species of plant-feeding mite that is generally considered a pest. It is the most widely known member of the family Tetranychidae or spider mites. Its genome was fully sequenced in 2011, and was the first genome sequence from any chelicerate.
