Actually, I had a look at the ebird page for Chocó Tyrannulet, and I don't think this is it either. The tyrannulet should be off-white below, and dull greyish-green above (including the cap), with a brighter yellow eyebrow and a tiny stubby bill. My money for this is on Tolmomyias (the second worst flycatcher genus in my opinion, after Myiarchus), specifically Yellow-margined Flycatcher. Posted 3 years ago

  Thanks again! I must say I'm surprised by this correction, as the photo is fairly detailed and our guide seemed certain. Then again, it's based on a small screen at the back of a camera, and flycatcher are so difficult. Posted 3 years ago

      I would propose to just group all flycatchers under a single species and call it "flycatcher complex":
      Appearance: variable.
      Breeds: yes.
      Eats: food.
