        1. Yes, true :) It was captured in a dutch zoo. Yet in a time (JungleDragon V1) where we did not yet have species identifications or even maps here, hence that kind of detail is not always on the photos. Posted 10 years ago
          1. lol.. I never even considered that he might be a zoo bird- we've lots of banded wild birds around here. Some get captured and banded multiple times. They get quite a collection of bangles. Posted 10 years ago
        1. True, hard to tell without a full back feather shot. Posted 10 years ago
  2. The combination of bright blue iris and pale-yellow bill on a cacique can be found in scarlet-rumped and yellow-rumped cacique. The scarlet rump colours can well be hidden, the yellow ones should be visible. Thus should be Scarlet-rumped Cacique. cp http://www.hbw.com/ibc/photo/scarlet-rumped-cacique-cacicus-microrhynchus/perched-bird

The scarlet-rumped cacique is a passerine bird species in the New World family Icteridae. It breeds from eastern Honduras to Panama and in the Pacific lowlands of South America from western Colombia south to Ecuador, and in the lower reaches of the northern Andes. There are several subspecies, some of which have been proposed for elevation to full species status.
