Epidendrum geminiflorum, Bellavista, Ecuador
Out of reach for macro, so used the birding lens. Incidentally, the photo tells the story of cloud forests. Branches are covered in layers of moss so thick that the bark itself becomes invisible. Besides moss, there's various epiphytes, micro ferns, orchids, lichen, an entire ecosystem on every branch. They all rely on the cloudy mist for moisture. The forest floor is covered by fallen branches as they cannot sustain the weight of all these freeloaders.
