Gunnera insignis, Bellavista, Ecuador The Gunnera genus is known for some of its species producing enormous leaves, as seen on the photo. We didn&#039;t do an official measurement, but I&#039;d estimate it at 1.5m tall and slightly less in width.<br />

Gunnera insignis is a highland species (800 – 2600 m) found in mountain ranges from Nicaragua down to Colombia. It is found in wet forests, frequently in disturbed and open areas or exposed ridgelines.
