White-capped dipper habitat, Alambi Reserve, Ecuador
This is the main wild (non-feeder) target bird of Alambi Reserve.
Like all dippers, this is an aquatic passerine that has made fast running water their home. They live, nest and forage at the water edge. They are entertaining to watch as they focus on the chaotic water surface, like a bear picking up salmon.

The white-capped dipper is an aquatic songbird found in South America. It is a small black bird with white spots. It is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
