The paper describing them says &quot;possesses a distinctive pitted frons, which assists in distinguishing this species&quot;.Males &amp; females can be separated by the distance between the eyes. While in other fly species the male eyes often touch at the top, with these they are just closer together making it more difficult to distinguish.<br />
