Slow worm - Anguis fragilis
Unfirtunately I find these species most often dead even in grasses next to my house. It is a victim of lawn mowing. In this case I don't know what killed it. I found it in the middle of a hiking path close to Fondry Des Chiens (June, 2019).
''Anguis fragilis'', or slow worm, slow-worm or slowworm, is a limbless reptile native to Eurasia. It is also sometimes referred to as the blindworm or blind worm, though the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds considers this to be incorrect.
