Unique!

Eggs of Phasmid/Stick Insect - Ovacephala parisae are rather unique and very different from other typical eggs of Phasmids with the 'frills/pinnae' on all 4 sides of the eggs. The egg itself is very tiny, around 1 x 3 mm in size and thickness of just 1 mm. The 'friils/pinnae' itself is rather unique with vein-like structures and the remaining part, translucent, this is hi-lighted in the picture using back-lit lighting.

This species are not often seen, probably spending more time higher up in the trees. The eggs are dropped, usually on the leaf they are resting on (documented in previous observation). The egg, being light and with the 'frills/pinnae' can easily drift with the wind.
