Lilac-breasted Roller at Tarangire NP, Tanzania
I still remember from our 2009 South Africa trip that the guide called this the most colorful bird in the world, in terms of numbers of colors. We felt so lucky to see just one back then. In Tanzania, they seem to be far more numerous, we made several spottings of them.

The lilac-breasted roller is an African bird of the roller family, Coraciidae. It is widely distributed in sub-Saharan Africa, and is a vagrant to the southern Arabian Peninsula. It prefers open woodland and savanna, and it is for the most part absent from treeless places.
