    1. Thanks1 My husband's pic :-) They were very difficult to photograph because they would only emerge for a few seconds and then dipe-dvied back in the pond every time! i think this is the best pic we could get from them :-)
      I have another of a female made by me that I may post later. Here I think this is a male with a more colorful and big tail.

The Smooth Newt, also known as the Common Newt, "Lissotriton vulgaris" is the most common newt species of the "Lissotriton" genus of amphibians. "L. vulgaris" is found throughout Europe except the far north, areas of Southern France, and the Iberian peninsula.
