  2. This is super, showing the stages of cone development. After a storm a few years ago, I lugged home a fair sized branch that had snapped off a large road-side Banksia. I let it dry out in my garage, then brought it inside standing in a tall vase - makes for a wonderful architectural, artistic botanical specimen. It is also covered in cones at various stages and I love to see them every day. (I think it is a B. integrifolia). Posted 3 years ago

"Banksia serrata", commonly known as old man banksia, saw banksia, saw-tooth banksia and red honeysuckle, is a species of woody shrub or tree of the genus "Banksia" in the family Proteaceae. Native to the east coast of Australia, it is found from Queensland to Victoria with outlying populations on Tasmania and Flinders Island.
