Hairy Vine, No Friend of Mine
Poison ivy vines often grow on tree trunks and are covered with "hairs", which are actually aerial rootlets. It may look harmless, but it is not! Poison ivy vines can still give you the urushiol-induced rash, which can be quite painful.
Some other fun poison ivy sayings:
"Raggy rope, don’t be a dope!”
"Vines with hair, beware!"
“Leaves of Three, Leave Them Be”
“Longer Middle Stem, Don't Touch Them”
“Berries of white, best take flight”
Habitat: Deciduous forest

"Toxicodendron radicans", commonly known as eastern poison ivy or poison ivy, is an allergenic Asian and Eastern North American flowering plant in the genus "Toxicodendron". The species is well known for causing urushiol-induced contact dermatitis, an itchy, irritating, and sometimes painful rash, in most people who touch it.
