Metrosideros thomasii

Native to New Zealand, Metrosideros thomasii is a shrub or small tree with oblong, glossy, leathery, grey/green leaves and spectacular crimson pom-pom type flowers that are made up of many fluffy stamens. Lovely silvery new growth. Commonly known as New Zealand Christmas bush due to its peak flowering period being at that time of year.
