Caerostris extrusa Caerostris extrusa is recognized by the white strip along its opisthosoma just behind the cephalothorax. The coloration is quite variable between light brown to dark brown, but there is always this white speck like on this photo. Also the length of trichobothria (hairs) on legs and on opisthosoma is very variable. This one has been taken during night walk along Ranomafana road. Identification has been made with the help of Matjaž Gregorič, a Caerostris species specialist.
