  1. They seem synonymous, but I think this should be listed as Lycopodium obscurum according to this:

"The genus Dendrolycopodium is accepted in the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I),[15] but not in other classifications, which submerge the genus in Lycopodium".

    What do you think?

    1. Or, should it be Dendrolycopodium as I see it listed that way on iNat?? Posted 3 years ago
        1. I switched the ID to Lycopodium since we already have one IDed as such on JD. We can decide on the correct genus still, though. Posted 3 years ago
          1. I'm not sure which is up to date. I'd have to check on the plant forums on FB probably. I know iNaturalist does go with Dendrolycopodium, and they usually defer to multiple sources :

I'll check with Weakley's key and see what he has to say.

            1. Okay, cool...It seems mixed. I'm not sure which is currently correct.

              1. Looks like Weakley and many of my other plant expert friends are calling it Dendrolycopodium obscurum. It must have been separated out genetically in recent years. Posted 3 years ago
                1. Lycopodium clavatum and Lycopodium lagopus remain.

                  1. Okay...I will re-identify them all...We can always change it back when/if the taxonomy changes! Posted 3 years ago
