  1. @Christine, I think I should correct the above mentioned ID from Daphnusa ocelaris to Daphnusa fruhstorferi based in the following data https://sphingidae.myspecies.info/taxonomy/term/36

    1. Thanks for the info, Sugianto! I checked and it seems that Daphnusa fruhstorferi and Daphnusa ocelaris were synonymous, but that Daphnusa fruhstorferi is now a separate species, right?

"Synonymized with Daphnusa ocellaris by Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool. 9 (suppl.): 284. Reinstated as a species by Brechlin, 2009, Entomo-Satsphingia 2 (2): 13."

      1. I created a new species record for Daphnusa fruhstorferi, but can't get the system to accept it as being different from Daphnusa ocelaris. This is something that Ferdy will have to look into when he returns from vacation. Sorry! Posted 3 years ago
      2. Acoording to Sphingidae Taxonomic Inventory of the articles from the mentioned link that Daphnusa ocelaris (Walker 1856) is for Daphnusa species found in Malaysia, Indonesia (Borneo/Kalimantan) n Philliphines. Since Daphnusa moth that I posted was taken/found in Java so based on the distribution of Daphnusa species is Daphnusa fruhstorferi (Huwe, 1895) for Species from Java & Sumatera of Indonesia. 1. Sounds good. I can't change the record to accept the correct name (Daphnusa fruhstorferi), but Ferdy will be able to do it when he returns from vacation next week. Posted 3 years ago
