  1. I've wanted to see these sandgrouse since I was a kid, so it was great to get multiple sightings of both Spanish species!
    Still, they're usually very skittish birds, so for both species, we actually crawled across a field, hidden behind a low line of bushes in order to get closer!

The pin-tailed sandgrouse is a medium large bird in the sandgrouse family. It has a small, pigeon like head and neck and a sturdy, compact body. It has long pointed wings, which are white underneath, a long tail and a fast direct flight.
