Willow Emerald Damselfly full body shot It rarely happens that I get a damselfly sharp end-to-end, but the advantage of my current gear (D800) is that I can take a small step back and then later crop back in. Less DOF issues that way when hand-shooting. Chalcolestes viridis,Heesch,Macro,Willow Emerald Damselfly Click/tap to enlarge Promoted

"Chalcolestes viridis", formerly "Lestes viridis", is a damselfly of the family Lestidae. It has a metallic green body and at rest it holds its wings away from its body. Its common name is the Willow Emerald Damselfly or the Western Willow Spreadwing.
