Celery Fruit fly (Euleia heraclei)

In the commentary to that video I mentioned E heraclei has two colour forms, black as shown at the time and a light brown/red version shown in the photograph above, which is indicative of the summer generation.
This colouring and body detail is quite stunning.
''Euleia heraclei'', known as the celery fly or the hogweed picture-wing fly is a species of tephritid or fruit flies in the genus ''Euleia'' of the family Tephritidae.
