Paper Wasp (Vespidae) Nest Fragment I found several pieces from a paper wasp nest on the ground in the woods. You can see the different layers of paper as the wasps got wood from different sources.<br />

Paper wasps gather fibers from dead wood and plants, which they mix with spit and use to construct nests made of grayish papery material.<br />
