    2. I'm pretty sure that's not an oriole. The bill is too thick, and lacks the typical silvery lower mandible. I'd say it's a Ploceus weaver, one of the many African species, perhaps Village Weaver? Posted 3 years ago

          I had a look at weavers on birdsoftheworld and given that combination of red eye, black head and chestnut nape, I think Village Weaver is a good bet, specifically the black-headed subspecies group.

The village weaver, also known as the spotted-backed weaver or black-headed weaver, is a species of bird found in much of sub-Saharan Africa. It has also been introduced to Hispaniola, Mauritius and Réunion.
