Shield Bug Nymph ( Anischys luteovarius) From a safe spot behind a spherical leaf gall this tiny attractive bug nymph was peering at the world. He had dark thorax and wing buds with pale abdominal segments and a dark central abdominal patch. The dark patches had white spots.<br />
I could see four distinct antennal segments.<br />

    1. Thanks Ferdy. This took a lot of work as stink bugs are confused with shield bugs and then the nymphs look different with every instar. Mark had to help with the ID. I like him because he was peeping over the gall which was itself a very small one. Posted 3 years ago
