Little Bee-eater at Arusha National Park The spotting process for this one was interesting. I spotted one quite far away, and was making every effort to capture it. Meanwhile my g/f was whispering to me, something I find annoying when trying to focus (hey, I don't multitask well). What she was trying to say though is that another one (this one) was right next to me. The Little Bee-eater is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae. It is resident in much of sub-Saharan Africa. It should not be confused with the Little Green Bee-eater, "Merops orientalis". Migration is limited to seasonal movements depending on rainfall patterns.
