Rough Scaled Python
found in rocky valleys and gorges in the Kimberley region of northern WA. One of Australia's rarest snakes with little known of its wild behaviour. Spends the day in caves or shady rock shelves or in shaded bushes and hunts at night. Has very long teeth for its body size-the better to get a grip on prey.
''Morelia carinata'', commonly known as the rough-scaled python, is a large-scaled python species endemic to Australia. No subspecies are currently recognized.
