  1. That scene cracked me up: the two immatures were pestering the adult for food. It obviously didn't have any, but it was actually very patient, and simply shuffled away from them instead of snapping at the kiddos. Except they were at the top of a narrow sea stack, and the adult eventually ran out of room to set its feet! Posted 3 years ago

The European herring gull is a large gull, up to 66 cm long. One of the best-known of all gulls along the shores of Western Europe, it was once abundant. It breeds across Northern Europe, Western Europe, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and the Baltic states.
