Small brown seedbug

I think it's probably in the Family Rhyparochromidae - Dirt-colored Seed Bugs, but even the closest match Rhyparochromus vulgaris doesn't seem quite right...

  1. Hmm, it does look a lot like that species, but as you said -- not quite. Maybe Sphragisticus sp.? Posted 3 years ago
    1. Possibly? https://bugguide.net/node/view/904195 Posted 3 years ago
      1. I think you may be right - I think I may have discounted this one last night as being lighter in color, but looking at all of the photos, there are some that are less white looking. They both definitely have the same two orange comma shaped marks on the scutellum
Lots of these around this year... I was sitting outside at work and had to flick one out of my lunch the other day...

        1. Oh wow! We have that problem right now with brown marmorated stink bugs. They are everywhere and constantly get inside, much to my cats' delight. Posted 3 years ago

Sphragisticus nebulosus is a Seed bug know from large parts of the Holarctic, but found more scarcely in the more southern regions.
