Spanish moss is an epiphytic flowering plant that often grows on trees in tropical climates. Native to much of Mexico, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Central America, South America, the Southern United States and the West Indies. It has been naturalized here in Australia in Queensland. Spanish moss is a flowering plant that grows upon larger trees, commonly the Southern Live Oak or Bald Cypress in the southeastern United States.
