This is the second flea beetle new to me from the same session:

Sphaeroderma rubidum - closeup, Heeswijk-Dinther, Netherlands Tiny, at 2-3mm. The dutch name "Rode distelaardvlo" translates to "Red Thistle Flea".<br /> <br /> It's on a thistle leaf here. Whilst not really a flea, it's a Flea Beetle (Tribe Alticini). The Altica lythri

''Altica lythri'' is a species of flea beetle from the leaf beetle family, that is common in Asia, Europe, and North Africa, including Israel. The beetles size is 5 mm, and their colour is blue with black and green. They present an ovipositor during oviposition.
