T. angustifolium is native to central, eastern and southern Europe and the Mediterranean regions of Africa and Asia ,but has been introduced to Australia.

the picture is really good, but this looks like a fruit of Trifolium (Clover) of the Fabaceae family, and not of something from the Rosaceae family. I looked at pictures of Acaena echinata and I don't think this is it.
can you please check?
