    Note that I changed the species. The one is was originally pointing to, Macroglossum stellatarum, is a Eurasian species. To complicate things further, "Hummingbird Moth" means different genuses when used in the US vs Europe, plus in either case it can be multiple individual species, not a single one.

    Anyway, I'm reasonably sure this is Hyles lineata, the color of the larvae are variable, here's an example from Arizona:

"Hyles lineata", also known as the white-lined sphinx, is a moth of the family Sphingidae. They are sometimes known as the hummingbird moth because of their bird-like size and flight patterns.
