    1. Interesting fact: I recently found a patch of flowers where bumblebees sleep at night. This is one in a series of photos I was able to take while the bumblebees (including this one) were lying still, probably (half-)asleep, at sunset. I had no idea they slept like this, on flowers, out in the open... Posted 12 years ago

    With white in lower abdominal region, it can't be Bombus pratorum. Checking also the thorax region it appears to be the common Bombus terrestris.

"Bombus terrestris", the buff-tailed bumblebee or large earth bumblebee, is one of the most numerous bumblebee species in Europe. It is one of the main species used in greenhouse pollination, and so can be found in many countries and areas where it is not native, such as Tasmania.
