  1. I would agree that it looks like Gryllus assimilis, but note that this species is from the Americas. How did you come to this ID, if I may ask? Posted 4 years ago
    1. What about something like Velarifictorus micado? Posted 4 years ago
      1. Magic search skills! Looks good to me, I will give you the honor to ID it :) Posted 4 years ago

            1. Yay!! Posted 4 years ago
    2. Instead of blank title/ID, I just fill in the ID based on similarity image from googling. As I said, I'm not a Scientist but only a retired person who love macro photography. Anyone is welcome to correct it if the mentioned ID (by me) is wrong. TQ Posted 4 years ago
      1. I'm not a scientist either, Sugian :)
Googling for visual similarity is OK, but you also have to consider if the species even occurs in your part of the world, this is easy to check.

        1. Hahaha yes Ferdy but there is a difference. You n Christine are still young, the age of my children, still energetic and still easy to understand on learning something new. Please remember, I only learned photography not long after I retired from work. What I'm doing right now, including to posting my photos in various Facebook groups just to keep me busy in enjoying my retirement days. So if the title or ID of my photos that I post in this group is wrong, don't hesitate, please change it according to what you think is correct. Thank you. Posted 4 years ago
          1. Not an issue at all, Sugian, and I think you score very well with the identifications. Posted 4 years ago
