      This photo and a few others like it have languished in my my files for some years. I'm kind of fussy about these insects (and plants etc as well!). Euchlaena is a wierd genus but I think I have got this specimen right. And yes, it is a gorgeous moth.

"Euchlaena obtusaria", the obtuse euchlaena moth, is a moth of the family Geometridae. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Alberta east to Nova Scotia, south to Florida and Texas. The habitat consists of mixed wood forests.
