    1. I hope I got the ID right…. It’s an oddball for a blue-eyed…. body color like a male, but eyes like a female. The pattern on the face fits that species best though, and it’s not really a match to any other local species either. Posted 4 years ago

        It's so close to matching and since coloration can vary, it seems like a match. But, I am not good at IDing Odonates. I wonder if it could be an immature male (if the body matches the male?)? I don't know. Hope you can confirm the ID!

  3. This dragonfly looks like it's stained-glass. Like the angle of the abdomen in conjunction with the twigs in the position of the wings. Very unique. Posted 4 years ago

The blue-eyed darner is a dragonfly of the family Aeshnidae. The blue-eyed darner is a common dragonfly of the western United States commonly sighted in the sagebrush steppe of the Snake River Plain, occurring east to the Midwest from central Canada and the Dakotas south to west Texas and Oklahoma. In Central America it occurs south to Panama.
