Leopard Slug inhouse
It was a bit of a shock finding this hanging on the inside of the door towards our garden. This large Leopard slug was hanging by a slime thread of about a meter long, and it was crawling down, producing large amounts of slime to extend its thread. Kind of like a very slow spiderman (top speed is 6 inches per minute, but only when in a hurry).
Reading a bit more about the species, it is actually almost always near human settlement, so it is not that surprising to find it.

"Limax maximus", known by the common names great grey slug and leopard slug, is a species of slug in the family Limacidae, the keeled slugs. It is among the largest keeled slugs, "Limax cinereoniger" being the largest.
