Scudderia fasciata (Pine katydid, Black-striped Katydid) This katydid kept moving quickly up the sheet so it was dificult to get a good shot of it. The wing with its "long black longitudinal stripe along the top of the tegmina (thickened, leathery front wings), which are elongated and not broadened in the middle" is characteristic of the species.
As far as I have been able to find out this species is not known from Minnesota and was recently added to the special concern list in adjacent Wisconsin. It is also a special concern species in Michigan where it has been reported from Muskegon County in the lower peninsula in 1991.
