Gibbons are the only true brachiators of all the primates, using their incredibly long arms to swing through the forest at an alarming rate. Although listed as endangered, it is sad that there is now a surplus in zoos as they breed so well.
The lar gibbon , also known as the white-handed gibbon, is a primate in the Hylobatidae or gibbon family. It is one of the better-known gibbons and is often seen in zoos.
