    1. Thanks! Costa Rica rivers are a likely point to find them but they are not so abundan so you need to keep a keen eye in the trees of the shorelines :-) Posted 3 years ago

    1. Haha! Me neither until I saw them for the first time in Costa Rica in 2002. I was very happy to see them again my second trip on 2014. They have a very peculiar way to align themselves in a tree and they have very funny pointy little noses when you can see them from close :-) Posted 3 years ago

The proboscis bat, "Rhynchonycteris naso", is a bat species from South and Central America. Other common names include sharp-nosed bat, Brazilian long-nosed bat and river bat in English, and murciélago narizón in Spanish. It is monotypic within its genus.
