Country intro
Rhino iguana portrait
Rhinoceros iguanas are large lizards that can grow up to 130 cm in length and weigh up to 4.5 kg. They are native to the Caribbean Island of Hispaniola.
Their common name is given for the bony plated pseudo-horn that grows from their snouts. The texture and detail on their skin is incredible.
This character is a long time companion to a lady I met who was attending the same reptile show as me. Our paths crossed in the women's wash room - imagine my surprise upon leaving the cubicle to see a lady at the sink with him draped around her shoulders! He was an impressive size.
The rhinoceros iguana is a threatened species of lizard in the family Iguanidae that is primarily found on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, shared by the Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. They vary in length from 60 to 136 centimetres and skin colors range from a steely gray to a dark green and even brown.
