It is an Elephant Hawk-moth (Deilephila elpenor) caterpillar. There is something wrong with your photo though, it doesn't seem to fit the photo format. You should have posted it without the black frame and text. Posted 12 years ago

  I am surprised that you cannot see it. I was actually hoping that you could fix it, because the caterpillar is very interesting and it is a new species. How did I see it - zoom and scroll down the black background until you get to the caterpillar in the middle :) Posted 12 years ago

    I don't see it at all in Firefox but in IE I did see the thin bar. When opening it fullscreen I see part of the image. I think this image file may be corrupt, as some browsers don't recognize it as a PNG whilst others do. Perhaps the uploader can convert it to a JPEG and re-upload? Posted 12 years ago
