  1. Wow, that is incredible. Can't wait for the new site with bigger thumbnails, I would have missed this had it not been for your comments. Posted 12 years ago
    1. Same photo on the beta site, clearly a lot larger indeed:

      2. It may be larger on your XXXL screen, but it actually looks smaller on mine :( Posted 12 years ago
        1. Wildflower, what screen/resolution are you using? Last thing I know you were using 800 x 600 on a 17" inch screen, right? It definitely still look larger on such a screen. Posted 12 years ago
          1. Correct, I'm still using the same resolution on the same screen.
            - I measured the photo above this comment with a ruler on the screen - it is 21,5x14,4 cm no matter the size of the window.
            - On IE8 the same photo here http://staging.jungledragon.com/jd3/image/159/dsc_0675.html
is 17,5x11,7 cm on a maximized window with the species ID on the right side. When I reduce the size of the window by a few mm, the photo goes full screen, the header looks like it is floating on top of it, because there is a 6 mm stripe of background above the header where the photo appears as I scroll down. The ID is below the photo and uploaded by is below the ID.
            - On Google Chrome JD3 the photo is full screen even on the maximized window. The ID and upload information are side by side below the photo.
It is a mess and it doesn't look good either way... I can try to upgrade IE see how it works.

        2. Wildflower, can you perhaps email me some screenshots, not just of your browser window but of your entire desktop screen? I think it will make me easier to understand your issue.

I wouldn't agree it is a mess when the information is below the photo, split across 2 columns, it is actually using the screen estate as good as it can, because the window is too narrow to have 2 columns side by side.

It is true though that there is an extra line of space above the page in IE8. This is a bug that I will try to solve. As for upgrading IE8, if you can, please do so. I'd recommend Chrome, Opera or Firefox, but if you insist on using IE, please use the latest possible version. IE8 really is an outdated and slow browser, many sites are dropping support for it. That said, I will offer at least basic support for it.

        3. Update: fixed the issue with the extra line above the header in IE8, please refresh your browser to see the line removed. Posted 12 years ago

The Vagrant Darter, ''Sympetrum vulgatum'', is a European dragonfly. The species takes it English name from its habit of occasionally appearing as a rare vagrant north of its normal range. However, it likely to be under-recorded because it is very similar to the Common Darter, ''S. striolatum''.
In central and northeast Europe, the species is common. In breeds in standing water.
