Regal Moth (Citheronia regalis) At a 365 + 395 UV light setup at a mixed forest edge. ~13cm wingspan.

This beauty initially terrified me while I was mothing this morning. I was standing at my sheet and heard loud wingbeats in the air nearby. I was suddenly hit in the back of the leg with a good bit of force. I didn't know if one of the local bats had flown into me, but it gave me a startle! It flailed away from me and onto the grass nearby. It took around 5 minutes before it calmed down enough for photos and eventually came to a rest at my sheet.
